Breaking News - WV MD PA NC USA Meteor ~18:00 EST 24DEC2011


12/24/2011 Janaye Bruton Annville, PA USA 1900/est 3 seconds n-s bright white moon no very fast bright white and fell down to the land. Brighter and larger than a star. Didn't know what it was until I found this site. Thank you..I'm not crazy!!

12/24/2011 Will Ormond Roanoke Rapids,NC,USA Eastern Sec Right to Left Blueish Moon No but it was over a treeline so maybe was on the way home my wife also pointed it out was very big i have seen plenty of shooting stars and metor showers was 20 times bigger than anything i ever saw but had the same blueish color from ones i have seen maybe a hit a yellow but overall mostly blue

24DEC2011 Rich D. Fairfax, VA 1815 (approx) I saw about 1 second of the end of it. NE-SW Orange fragments I saw something a little dimmer than Venus at end of event. Yes Saw tail end of event with orange fragments. From St. Leo Church, it fell seemed to be falling straight down and passed by Venus. My son said he saw a bright streak. I thought I heard a crack and it caught my eye. Saw orange fragments that I initially thought were from fireworks.

12/24/2011 Martin Morgantown, WV, USA Approx. 1800 Approx. 7 seconds unknown White. Venus. Fragmented at 6 seconds. Very dramatic.

12/24/2011 M. Townsend Roanoke, WV 18:15 EST 10 Sec. North to South White/Bluish White/Bright Green Bright as moon no fragments seen, large diameter fireball Incredible large fireball starting white and changing to bright green before ducking under the horizon
